A three day group therapy program run by two experienced group faciliatiors and ACC accredited therapist for ACC clients who identify as LGBTQIA+

 

This group will incorporate building skills on the following:

​

• PTSD triggers|flare ups and how to recognise the symptoms and respond 

• Emotional regulation skills to regulate PTSD symptoms (breath work, psychoeducation and mindfulness

• Social isolation due to PTSD symptoms and pandemic panic 

• Family|peer relationship and how they influence PTSD

• Anxiety|rumination and depression in the context of PTSD flashbacks

• Minority stress which perpetuates PTSD flare ups due to LGBTQIA+ identity and past experiences 

• Belonging and social connections in Ōtepoti rainbow community 

• Boundary setting and assertive communication 

• Nervous system psycho-education with reference to PTSD and how to regulate towers calm 

• Psychodramatic elements|role theory to attend to past traumatic experinces

These groups are funded by ACC Sensitive Claims if you have an accepted claim and are currently supported by a therapist.​ Otherwise the cost of the group will be $600.00 (conditions apply)
