My Story
I am a healing-arts practitioner, educator, author, and seeker currently based in Ōtepoti (Dunedin), Aotearoa New Zealand. Originally from California, I have been teaching yoga, meditation, and creative writing for over twenty years in diverse settings including Hawaiʻi, the Swiss Alps, Colorado, and New Zealand.
I have formal training in Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga and am registered with Yoga Alliance. I am also a Master Practitioner of Energy Medicine in the tradition of the Q’ero mystics of Peru, and I have worked in energetic healing for more than twenty years.
In my work, I weave movement, breath, creative writing, and energy medicine to support people to reconnect with themselves, regain agency, and explore the interplay between body, mind, spirit, and story. As a published poet and creative-writing educator, I also centre the power of narrative, voice, and embodiment as pathways for healing.
I am known for my warm, grounded, and curious presence, and for my capacity to hold space for emergence, transformation, and belonging. I offer sessions that are invitational, integrative, and respectful of each person’s lived experience.
My areas of focus include:
-
Yoga and meditation (trauma-sensitive and embodied)
-
Energy medicine and shamanic healing (including soul retrieval, cord-cutting, and energetic clearing)
-
Creative writing and expressive arts for healing
-
Nervous system regulation, embodiment, and reconnecting with life’s natural rhythms
-
Holding space for people navigating identity, transition, injury, recovery, or awakening
As part of the Wai team, I bring a blend of somatic, creative, and energetic practices, complementing talk-based therapy with body-based, expressive, and transformational modalities. I feel deeply aligned with Wai’s relational, culturally attuned, and trauma-informed kaupapa, and I value the collective space we create together.
