My Story
I bring over 25 years of dedicated experience in the social sector across Ōtepoti Dunedin. Working deeply with māmā and pēpi at Family Start delivering Ahuru Mowai, Te Hau Ora delivering Hakui Hakorotanga. Rangatahi at Mirror Day services, and Tāne at Moana House and Otago Corrections Facility, peoples from all walks of life.
As an Alcohol and Drug Counsellor and Behavioural Therapist, my mahi is centred on being human and supporting others to embrace their own humanity. I have facilitated group settings at Stopping Violence Dunedin and 1-to-1 kōrero. I have worked within the Prison system doing 1 to 1 with Tane also with a focus on whakapapa.
A significant part of my practice is offering specialised, dedicated support for wāhine navigating their way through and after gang life, helping to rediscover their identity and walk proudly as mana Wahine.
Qualified by rich lived experience and walking tall as a mana wahine, I hold safe space for those carrying grief, guiding them with aroha, manaaki, and kaha.
I look forward to our whakawhanaungatanga and the time we share together.
